ABOUT VERMI COMPOST
Compost is prepared by allowing farm waste to decay along with cow dung for 45 days, this compost is fed to earthworms, and the earthworm-excreted compost is found to be very rich in macro and micro nutrients. Initially the enormous quantity of weeds existing in the farms are cut and mixed with 50 tonnes of cow-dung allowed to decay into compost that is fed to earthworms grown in earthworm troughs housed in the shed. The treated compost is collected periodically and applied to the plants as fertilizers.
GIVE YOUR SOIL A HEALTHY NUTRITION
A concrete base is required to put the waste for vermi-compost preparation. Loose soil will allow the worms to go into soil and also while watering, all the dis solvable nutrients go into the soil along with water. Collection of earthworm after vermi-compost collection
BENEFITS OF VERMICOMPOST
The most significant benefit is that the nutrients in earthworm compost are very easily absorbed by the roots of plants. Unlike chemical fertilizers, vermi-compost is not easily flushed from the soil because of the worm mucus that it contains. Plants have longer to obtain the nutrients and get the maximum benefit.
